The Innovative Materials Research Lab (IMRL) is always looking for highly motivated M.S., Ph.D., and postdoctoral researchers who are interested in advanced materials research and next-generation nanomaterials.
Our research focuses on the synthesis, interface engineering, and functional integration of two-dimensional materials, particularly boron nitride (BN), graphene, and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). Through precise control of crystal growth and nanoscale interfaces, we aim to establish scalable materials platforms for future electronic, photonic, and energy technologies.
Current research topics in IMRL include :
- Growth of two-dimensional materials such as graphene, boron nitride, and transition metal dichalcogenides
- Development of van der Waals heterostructures
- Functional materials for hydrogen production, electrochemical catalysis, and energy conversion
- Fundamental studies of electronic, optical, and chemical properties of nanomaterials
Members of IMRL work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers will receive training in materials synthesis, nanofabrication, and advanced characterization techniques, and will have opportunities to lead innovative research projects, collaborate with international research groups, and publish in high-impact journals. We strive to provide a creative and supportive research environment that encourages independent thinking and scientific innovation.
