About IMRL
Engineering boron nitride platforms for future electronics, photonics, and energy technologies.

Welcome to the Innovative Materials Research Lab (IMRL). At IMRL, we design and engineer next-generation nanomaterials through precise control of crystal growth, interfaces, and functional material systems. Our research focuses on boron nitride (BN) and other two-dimensional materials to establish scalable materials platforms for future electronic, photonic, and energy technologies.

By integrating materials synthesis, interface engineering, and device-oriented materials design, we aim to uncover new physical phenomena and enable transformative technologies based on BN and related nanomaterials.
